As far as clothing goes, and as far as modern Nigerian fashion goes, there will always be a Walker Design in my life. I've got tones of these guys designs and I must say, they are outstandingly beautiful.

Our next guest on Swit Summer Blog is a young, energetic, handsome and very successful boss, who has put in so much into growing his business and honestly, I'm inspired by his efforts in making people look beautiful.

1. Please introduce yourself to us.

My name is Bankole  Bolaji I’m the Ceo of an urban wear called  Walker Designs.

2. How long have you been into the business of making and branding wears?

I’ve been into the business of making and branding wears for over 5 years now.Since 2011.

3. When did you first discover your passion and how did you pursue your dreams?

I first discovered my passion when I was in secondary school. I used to have these crazy ideas for wears, whereby I’ll design artworks for t - shirt with different colors and graphics. Then I thought to myself why don't I don't I take it seriously as a profession. Then I started designing for myself, knowing that when people see it on me they’ll comment and be like who made this t - shirt for you...so that was how everything started.

4. Any plans of expanding your branding business into branding other stuffs like souvenirs, accessories etc?

Yes. Presently Walker design is planning on expanding its brands into different aspects such as bags, footwear, wristwatches etc. We will keep you up to date with that.

5. If a person is interested in going into such a capital intensive business, what would be your first 3 advice to the individual?

Hmm... My 1st 3 advice...

1.  Make sure you know your business and market audience very well.

2. Make sure u always deliver on time and your work is perfect to your costumers. It is very important.

3. Make sure you have passion for What you do because if you do not have passion for it, you will not be motivated to give your clients the best or deliver well, so to me I think with this you are good to go.

Meet DJ CENTELIBA - NIGERIA'S VERY OWN WORLD CLASS DJ.

Talk of celebrities with a difference, this cat has disc jockeying all figured out. I’ve been trailing him for a while and I finally got him to visit Swit Summer studio to grant us this interview. Besides being a friend, a fine boy, and speaking oyibo oyibo english, this dude knows his onions. As far as DJ-ing* is concerned, he’s got it.

Ladies and gentlemen of the world, without wasting much time in wining you, let’s meet our celebrity for the week.

1. We are so glad to finally have you in our studio. Everyone is waiting earnestly to meet you, so please introduce yourself to us.

My names are Adebukunola Adeniyi Sunday aka DJCENTELIBA. I am a mass communicator by profession and a disc Jockey by occupation. Ceo Centeliba Records.

 

 2. When did you first discover your passion to be a DJ and what were the challenges involved in taking you to where you are now?

Back when I was in the university, I realized entertaining people and making people happy via music projection is my God given talent.  As regards the challenges I faced as a rookie DJ, I believe financial capital was a major constraint. In this part of our country the disc jockey business is not considered to be a lucrative business. This is one major challenge we have when trying to secure investors.

 3. So how many years have you been in this game of scratching and what organizations have you joined, to solidify your stand as a registered DJ in the Federal Republic of Nigeria? 

I became a professional certified DJ in 2010, so I believe that's 6 years. I joined (DJAN) DEEJAYS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA IN 2012.

4. I've been in events, where you play and boy you sure can scratch. Besides your equipment’s are super. What drives you to doing the things you do - I mean your motivation?

Thanks a lot for the compliment. My motivation and drive are in 3 categories.

1. God: he keeps me healthy and strong enough to do what I do best.

2. Money: money is essential and discovered a long time ago that the entertainment industry in Nigeria is rising faster than anticipated. Therefore Entertainers will make a lot of money doing the needful.

3. The Big Dream; I want to someday be regarded as one of the most influential DJ in the entertainment industry.

5. Gist us about your recent event please. I know I was suppose to be there and must have missed a lot. I do hope you can release some pictures for all to see.

I'm still mad at you for not coming. Hmm my last party was the Expensive pool party. We had a lot of fun because it was filled with so many side attractions like special barbecue menus, swim suit models, water gun games etc. I'll send you some of the pictures now.

 

6. What can you say to aspiring DJ's out there, who have the passion but do not know even the first step to take in that direction?

Firstly, educate yourself to the best of your capability. Stay focused and always research about other DJs. Never give up on your dreams no matter how difficult things may be.

 7. What words can you leave for your friends, fans and clients, who have supported YOU, all these YEARS?

Thanks a lot for supporting me and helping me become who I am today. May the good Lord also uplift you all in your respective fields?

Swit Summer Blog - Frank Nero Ogboso in my own words.

 

He was a friend, infact the best, a brother, son, an events planner, cinematographer, tv host, radio personality to all of us....
In my days of rapping, we used to joke about how we would make history together with him as my manager and me as the artist.

We worked in BlackPride productions together and made tremendous impact together. I remember him always buying me blue Denim jeans and dropping it off at my home every now and then (he knew I loved blue Denims). He didn't have to wait for it to be my birthday, once we got into an argument, he would just show up at my house when he knew I wouldn't be around and drop the gift pack filled with lovely blue denims and t-shirts.

When I'd finally call him to squash the beef he would say "Jojo, use me gym, thats the most you can do to me for offending you" and we would laugh about it and talk about how important it was to take over the world together....

I can go on and on but this I have to say, IT'S BEEN 4 YEARS ALREADY since you left us and it still hurts me everyday. Last time you came to my house, you requested to lend my camera, and that you would return in 3 hours. You never did Frank! You never did...

My mum left some fried rice for you in my freezer on the 29th of December 2011 saying no one should touch it that it belonged to Nero. You even left a

bottle of Vodka in Tony's house, said you were coming back home so you could celebrate together after the new year... YOU NEVER DID HOMMIE.

Social media been writing alot of stuffs about you being poisoned and all... Some say you were CEO of Nure TV when it was infact Nu retro TV (a budding media outfit)... I remember deciding on company names with you after you gave up Black Pride Productions and moved to Uyo.

They say people move on, I have moved on too, but I would forever carry you with me hommie... You were the true definition of a friend...

Got a call from your elder brother KC on the 3rd of January 2012 that you had passed on the 2nd of January 2012 and I almost lost my mind. I remember crying profusely for days into weeks in my room and pinching myself so I could wake up from my slumber but it was true, you really had left us...

Writing this article kinda makes me re - live the great moments I had with you my friend Nero and I'm so honoured to be writing about you. This is the least I could ever do for you hommie... We had been through alot.... and honestly speaking, you touched my life in a special way.....
